Deadline for Healthy Boiler Program incentives for 2020 nears; upload information by Dec. 31

As a reminder, Human Resources extended the 2020 Healthy Boiler Program incentive deadline to Dec. 31. What that means is that employees still have time to complete their annual physical and upload their biometric information to the Healthy Boiler portal to earn their incentives. Both the physical and biometric screening required for 2020 incentives are provided at no cost to employees on all three Purdue medical plans as preventive benefits.

The program provides employees the opportunity to earn $325 (employee only) or $650 (employee + spouse, employee + child or employee + family) as additions to their health savings account (HSA) or health reimbursement account (HRA).

Incentive funds will be deposited into employee HSAs by the end of January. HSA FAQs can be used as reference. Those not participating in an HSA will have funds deposited into a wellness HRA. Those who currently do not have an HRA account open will have one opened for them in January. HRA FAQs can be consulted.

A report in aggregate is provided to Human Resources at the end of each month indicating how much each person should receive based on completed items. Human Resources does not receive any personal health information related to incentives completed.

Employees can register for and log activities via the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program portal.

Healthy Boiler pillars

Along with the financial incentive, the Healthy Boiler Program provides care in each area by offering cost-controlled benefits and easily accessible resources that help Purdue employees (and their families) across all campuses. Through each of the pillars, the Healthy Boiler Program:

  • Behavioral Health – Advocates for integrated care programs that focus on behavioral health and community support.
  • Financial Wellness– Provides financial education and guidance programs that help ensure long-term financial well-being.
  • Physical Health– Champions health education, preventive care and ongoing treatment programs to help individuals achieve lasting physical health and overall well-being.
  • Social Wellness– Promotes opportunities that bring people together to foster collaboration and share common goals, contributing to both individual and collective well-being.
  • Work-Life Integration– Offers family-friendly benefits and programs that meet 21st century work-life demands.
