Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on turning savings into retirement income

Human Resources is offering a Healthy Boiler workshop, titled “Turn Your Savings into Retirement Income,” from noon to 1 p.m. March 18 in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 263AB.

Led by Tosin Ratchford, retirement planner and registered securities and licensed insurance representative at Fidelity, the workshop will provide information that will help attendees who are planning to retire within the next few years and want to:

• Learn the benefits of a retirement income plan.
• Define their sources of retirement income.
• Understand the factors to consider when transitioning their savings into income.
• Identify the risks affecting retirement income.
• Develop a retirement plan that suits their goals and lifestyle.

Those interested should register by March 17 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. Registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage. Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.

“Having the ability to partner with Fidelity to provide finance- and retirement-related workshops to our employees is a privilege we are happy to have,” says Candace Shaffer, senior director of benefits in Human Resources. “These types of workshops expand the reach of our Healthy Boiler Program and help bring financial wellness to the forefront.”

Ready for Retirement? Attend “Road to Retirement” on Thursday

Employees age 50 and above can gain retirement knowledge by attending Purdue’s “Road to Retirement” event on Thursday (March 5). No registration is required and guests are welcome.
