Appointments, honors and activities

  • Appointments and promotions:

- Judith Lewandowski will join the Purdue University Global administrative team in May as vice provost for adult teaching and learning. Her work will include facilitating the success of the curriculum design and operations teams as they partner across Purdue Global to research, reimagine and continuously improve its educational models. Lewandowski has over 20 years of experience in teaching and designing courses in higher education, serving as a faculty member and most recently as director of learning design and curriculum at the University of Notre Dame. She is no stranger to the Purdue family, previously serving as a professor in the Learning Design and Technology graduate program and as outreach coordinator for the Center for Research in Information Assurance and Security at Purdue West Lafayette. Additionally, Lewandowski has worked as an evaluator for the Department of Education and earned her Ph.D. from Purdue in learning design and technology.

  • Faculty and staff honors:

- Purdue Global Professor Cuneyt Altinoz has been named a regional recipient of the 2021 Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Teaching Excellence Award. ACBSP annually recognizes individuals who exemplify teaching excellence in the classroom. Altinoz, who teaches business analytics, now is a candidate for the International Teaching Excellence Award. He will be honored at the ACBSP Conference on June 25-28 in Miami. A Purdue Global student said, “Professor Altinoz was great. He challenged us to think deeper in our discussion posts. He made the seminars lively and entertaining, and his weekly memos provided much needed information to keep us on track. Without those tools, I would have been lost for the entire six weeks. I appreciate him going above and beyond to make sure that we had the tools for success in this course.”
