The Economist ranks Krannert faculty in world's Top 30
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's Krannert School of Management was recognized among the top 30 programs in the world for the quality of its faculty by The Economist, one of the world's leading business publications.
The quality of faculty is measured by The Economist on the ratio of faculty to students, percentage of full-time faculty with a Ph.D. and faculty rating by students. The Economist released is annual rankings of MBA programs Oct. 13.
"We're pleased that The Economist has recognized the Krannert faculty among the top 30 in the world," said David Hummels, dean and professor of economics. "Our management and economics professors are producing groundbreaking research within their academic disciplines, and they are equally committed to providing world-class instruction to our students. A school and university are only as strong as its faculty, and this ranking solidifies our reputation among the top global business schools."
Krannert was No. 4 for the ratio of alumni to students, ranked No. 36 for salary increase - the ratio of salary before and after a Krannert MBA - No. 38 for networking opportunities and No. 46 for placement through career services. Purdue was ranked No. 85 in the global rankings.
The methodology includes student and alumni surveys measuring career opportunities, personal development and the educational experience, the increase in salary and the potential to network.
