Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on physical health and financial wellness; register by Feb. 24

The 2022 Healthy Boiler Program began Jan. 1 and runs through Dec. 31. An upcoming Healthy Boiler workshop – “Health is Wealth” – will share information about the incentive aspect of the Healthy Boiler Program. The workshop, which will take place from noon to 1 p.m. ET Feb. 25, supports the physical health and financial wellness pillars of the Healthy Boiler Program.
“Health is not something money can buy,” says Lindsay Bloom, health coach at Purdue Fort Wayne, who is presenting the workshop. “Health is a result of the day-to-day choices that we make. But what if some of those choices offered a monetary reward? Choices made via the Healthy Boiler Program do just that. Participants will learn about the Healthy Boiler incentive program and how to maximize the amount of funds available in their health savings account (HSA) or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA).”
Those interested in attending should register by Feb. 24 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s homepage. Hover over the workshop’s button and hit “Submit” to register.
Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan
2022 Healthy Boiler incentive structure
Benefits-eligible employees (including those who have opted out of Purdue’s insurance) and spouses covered on a Purdue health plan can each earn up to $450 in incentives ($900 combined total) on top of the $200 base contribution from Purdue. Those with employee + children coverage can earn up to $900 in incentives, in addition to Purdue's $400 base contribution.
In 2022, funds can be earned through a variety of steps.
- Step 1 – Complete annual physical (required)
Employees also have the option of completing additional steps to increase the incentive payment.
- Step 2 – Complete annual biometrics, complete health risk assessment, complete dental or vision exam, complete a well-being screening (optional)
Employees can complete the steps in whatever order works best for them, but the annual physical has to be uploaded into the portal before any additional incentive dollars earned through step 2 can be paid. See the Earn Incentives webpage for more details.
