Purdue Online releases new workshops, mini-courses for PWL online instructors

Purdue Online is launching a new series of workshops and mini-courses for Purdue West Lafayette instructors, to provide quick, focused, pedagogy-backed training on key aspects of developing and delivering online courses.

These workshops and mini-courses are open to any instructor and offer an opportunity to learn about individual topics. Participants will receive a digital badge for completing each session. To register for the workshops and/or mini-courses, visit the Training@Purdue website or select the direct links below.

The new workshops include:

The new self-paced mini-courses include:

The mini-courses, which take about two hours to complete, are self-paced and available anytime through Purdue’s Brightspace learning management system. The hour-long workshops will be presented live via WebEx. There are no prerequisites for any of the workshops or mini-courses. However, the Teaching Online Tips and Tricks workshop is designed as an overview leading into the other workshops and the mini-courses.

The workshops also will include a resource page in Brightspace with supplemental readings and other materials as well as recordings of the live sessions. The live workshops will feature facilitators from Purdue Online in each session, offering plenty of opportunities for virtual breakout rooms to focus on specific questions.
