About the Office of Postdoctoral Studies

Purdue defines a postdoctoral scholar in accordance with the National Postdoctoral Association. A postdoctoral scholar, or "postdoc" is any individual holding a doctoral degree who is engaged in a temporary period of mentored research/and or scholarly training for the purposes of acquiring the professional skills needed to pursue a career path of their choosing.

It is Purdue's belief that postdocs make invaluable contributions to our research mission. The Office of Postdoctoral Studies is designed to provide support to current postdocs as they navigate this important step in their educational training.
