You’re in the right place, Boilermaker!
Dear Boilermakers,
Welcome back!
You are making history today as part of the first group of Purdue University students to take classes at scale in Indianapolis as part of one Purdue. Let me add to President Chiang’s welcome message with my best wishes for a fantastic fall semester.
I hope you all had a fantastic time at the Boilermaker Block Party this past weekend at Military Park. It was a wonderful way to connect with friends new and old.
Let’s carry that energy into the fall semester. Get to know your instructors and stay in contact with your advisors. Know that our faculty and staff are united in supporting you. I encourage you to seek out hands-on learning opportunities such as internships, research, service learning and studying abroad, and start early. A new semester is also a great time to jump into new student life opportunities. In all these opportunities, what you can gain in knowledge, skill development, perspective and personal growth is immeasurable.
The unique network you build while progressing in one of the many outstanding academic programs at Purdue, combined with the opportunities you choose to pursue, can launch you far. You’re in the right place for growth and innovation.
We hope you and your family can join us at Fall Family Weekend, Nov. 1-3. Registration opens in late September. Programming will be held at both the Indianapolis and West Lafayette locations. I’m going to both! I’ll be in Indianapolis Friday, Nov. 1 to see everyone attending the Student Life family gathering and in West Lafayette on Saturday. The fall featured event includes the football game and festivities on Nov. 2 in West Lafayette. If your family cannot attend the fall event, Spring Family Weekend is scheduled for April 4-6, 2025. Your family is also welcome to visit campus on a weekend when it is more convenient.
Have a wonderful semester.
Boiler Up!
