Peer Success Coach
This role is available for students in West Lafayette and Indianapolis
A Peer Success Coach (PSC) is a point-person who can offer guidance to students as they navigate life at Purdue. PSCs are student leaders who coach their peers through personal, academic, and social concerns such as developing study skills, connecting with campus resources, finding motivation, getting involved in campus activities and organizations, and managing time. PSCs consistently meet with their coachees throughout the semester and hold them accountable for meeting their established goals.

Application Process
The application to become a Peer Success Coach for the 2026-2027 academic year opens on February 1st and will close on Saturday, February 28th at 11:59 PM.
To apply for the PSC Position, you must submit an online application for your primary campus location which will include:
- An updated resume
- Responses to the following short answer questions:
- Why do you want to work at the Academic Success Center?
- What excites you about the Peer Success Coach position?
- What skills or experiences do you have that would make you a strong student leader at the ASC?
- Contact information for at least 2 professional references (previous employers, faculty, staff, etc.)
- References will receive a short survey to complete via email

Selection Timeline
- Submit your online application by 11:59 PM on Saturday, February 28
- If selected, participate in a Group Interview the week of March 8
- If selected, participant in an Individual Interview between March 23 and April 10
- Hiring notifications will be made by April 17, if not earlier.
Requirements for Applying
- Be an undergraduate student who has attended Purdue for at least 2 semesters
- May apply if you are currently in your second semester
- Be able to commit to the position for at least two semesters, with the option to continue longer provided you are in good standing in the role
- Be able to dedicate at least 6 hours a week to the position
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be able to attend a mandatory two-day training
- Be available for biweekly team meetings in the evening throughout the year
- Be in good academic and judicial standing at Purdue University
- Have a desire to assist other students with identifying and overcoming barriers to their academic success
- Possess a positive attitude and passion for helping others
- Possess strong time management, organization skills, and study skills
- Be willing to work both individually and as a part of a team
Responsibilities of the Position
- Coach 4-5 students per semester
- Meet consistently (usually weekly) with assigned coachees throughout the semester
- Document communication and meetings with coachees in BoilerConnect system
- Hold 1 office hour per week in the Academic Success Center
- Attend weekly team meetings as scheduled throughout the year
- Attend required check-ins with supervisor throughout the semester
- Additional documentation, administrative tasks, and professional development as determined by supervisor
Hours and Compensation
- PSCs typically work 4-6 hours per week with a starting wage of $13.25/hour
