Employees encouraged to access open enrollment resources

As the second week of open enrollment for faculty and staff to make 2018 benefit elections begins, nearly 20 percent of employees have enrolled through the new Benefitfocus tool. Human Resources - Benefits encourages employees to access the many resources, such as walk-in labs and helpful presentations, available this week to help complete enrollment.

This week, CVS Caremark will be on site Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for those who may want to walk in and visit with a representative; the CVS Caremark schedule is listed with the other help schedules, and all are in the enrollment guide as well. Additionally, Anthem representatives will be on site Tuesday and still have appointment times available by calling 317-287-6891; appointments with Anthem are also available on Nov. 8.

Employees will receive letters from CVS Caremark at their home address over the next few days. Letters are being sent to let employees know of any prescription drug changes that may affect them or covered family members for 2018 due to the change to CVS Caremark. Employees may need to work with their physicians to review medications and, in some cases, consider alternatives.

A special session for employees and/or covered spouses who are approaching age 65 will be offered at 11 a.m. Nov. 6 in Stewart Center, Room 310 to help review the impact of Medicare coverage and health savings accounts. A recorded version of this session will be made available online.

Benefits open enrollment runs through 6 p.m. EST on Nov. 10. A dedicated enrollment website is available to provide detailed information about benefits enrollment for 2018. All employees are asked to actively enroll during this open enrollment window.

Questions should be directed to Human Resources Benefits for West Lafayette at hr@purdue.edu or by calling 765-494-2222. Employees at the Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest campuses should contact the Human Resources department at their respective campuses.
