Enroll by Friday for chance to win a FitBit Flex; life insurance issue resolved

The deadline to enroll in 2017 benefits is 6 p.m. EST Nov. 11, but Human Resources is encouraging faculty and staff to enroll early. Enrolling sooner rather than later will allow employees to avoid high traffic on the online enrollment system and other enrollment resources, resulting in faster service.

Employees who complete their 2017 elections by midnight EST Friday (Nov. 4) will be entered to win the second Fitbit Flex, courtesy of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Purdue’s medical plan administrator.

Congratulations goes to Aaron Strong, indoor air quality technician at the West Lafayette campus, who was randomly selected as the winner of the first FitBit Flex. Human Resources thanks Strong and all others who have already enrolled.

Life insurance

Some faculty and staff had difficulty with life insurance issues in the first days of open enrollment due to a systems issue in the EBenefits tool. That issue has been fully resolved, and those who had difficulty can now view the Additional Employee Term Life screen and make changes if necessary. If an employee experiences any difficulty completing his or her enrollment, there are resources available to help: visit an open enrollment lab, email hr@purdue.edu or call765-494-2222.  Resources are available through Human Resources at the Fort Wayne campus and the Purdue Northwest campuses as well.

Keep in mind that no changes to benefit selections will be accepted after 6 p.m. EST Nov. 11 unless there is a qualifying life event (change in family status)
