Spring Fling non-registration events - May 22

The events listed on this page do not require pre-registration.  Just show up on May 22 and join the fun!

Information Table

Where: North end of Memorial Mall, in front of the food tent
When: 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Not sure where to go? Staff will be available to guide you to your event. 


Lunch

Where: Under the big tent on the Memorial Mall lawn
When: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Enjoy a great lunch with your friends and colleagues. Choose between a turkey or ham sandwich or if you need a vegetarian option, choose the greek salad wrap. A gluten-free option will be available at the event upon request.  Bottled water and soft drink will also be available. In order that more staff are able to enjoy lunch, please remember you may take only one lunch. Carry-outs are not available. 


Wellness Experience

Where: South end of Memorial Mall 
When:  12:00 p.m.-12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.-1:45 p.m.

Mindfulness involves focusing on the present moment, engaging your senses and paying attention to your thoughts and feelings. Come and join our staff from the Recreation & Wellness Center to learn more!


Sustainability

The Spring Fling coordinating committee is proud to sponsor Purdue's Sustainability Master Plan. We continue to offer products in recyclable packaging and provide containers for the compostable waste.  We ask that everyone do their part by utilizing the proper containers - it takes the whole campus community to make this successful. 


Entertainment - DJ

Where: Memorial Mall
When:  11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. 

Enjoy the sounds of local DJ Wendell Ferguson. With more than 30 years of service to the Greater Lafayette area, he provides the most up-to-date and energetic events throughout Lafayette. Come out and give karaoke a try!


Yard Games

Where: South end of Memorial Mall
When:  11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

If you're looking for a game that doesn't require a lot of pain and strain, join a game of Corn Hole or Ladder Golf with your friends and co-workers!                                                                           


Bingo

Where: Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC), Room 1018 NEW LOCATION!
When: 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

Come and play this game of chance and make it an extra special day by winning some great prizes for getting "Bingo"!                                                                                                                         


PURA - Purdue University Retirees Association

Where: Memorial Mall, next to the Food Tent
When: 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Think you're ready for retirement? Stop by and speak to PURA representatives about what you should be doing now to prepare for your retirement life!


Disc Golf

Where:  Bottom of Slayter Hill
When: 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Whether you've been playing for a while, or are looking for something new to try - disc golf is becoming one of the greatest lifetime fitness sports available. Disc golf is played much like traditional golf, however, players use a flying disc rather than a ball and clubs. If you're interested in playing, start at the bottom of Slayter Hill on May 22 and bring your own discs.


Blood Drive for the Indiana Blood Center

Where: Bus Lane Memorial Mall
When:  11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

The donation process takes less than an hour. It is recommended that donors have a light snack before donating. Most people are eligible to donate. For more information, click here.
