Karan Hustedt-Warren promoted to Associate Director of Research Security & Export Controls in the Office of Research Security & Export Controls (RSEC).

Elizabeth Wagner, senior director of research security and export controls, announced that Karan Hustedt-Warren has been promoted to Associate Director of Research Security & Export Controls in the Office of Research Security & Export Controls (RSEC).

Karan brings a results-driven approach with a strong background in program management, regulatory compliance, and operations, particularly within Purdue’s administrative systems and programs. She has been widely recognized for her efforts in developing and implementing programming, streamlining procedures, and improving efficiency across her roles at Purdue.

 Her ability to understand and optimize complex systems makes her an invaluable asset as we build Purdue’s Research Security program.  Additionally, her skill in fostering strong relationships with faculty and stakeholders will serve her well in this new leadership role.

As Purdue’s Research Security Program Manager, Karan revamped both online and in-person training materials, strengthened compliance with federal and university research security policies, and developed a real-time compliance tracking system that has significantly improved reporting accuracy. These accomplishments have already brought immense value to our office and will undoubtedly contribute to her continued success in this position.
