2. Identify Interest, Track Record, and Institutional Context

Begin to develop a broader impacts identity by considering your preferences, Purdue institutional context, and previous experiences. For instance:

How comfortable and experienced are you in working with children? Older children or younger? Do you prefer structured classroom activities or informal afterschool programs?
What expertise do you have or training have you received that equips you to engage and support underrepresented minorities?
What types of partners have you already worked with successfully?
How well do you communicate with non-experts?
Do you have experience with technology-based solutions such as app development, virtual reality, or online learning?
Do you have outreach interests that align with Purdue's land grant mission or your college's strategic plan?

Your answers will help inform Steps 3, 4, and 5.
