Pilot – Tenured and Tenure-Track and Clinical Faculty Enhanced Research Appointment Program (FERAP)

Purdue University is pleased to announce the continuation of the pilot initiative to recognize the exceptional research focused efforts, duties and activities of our tenured and tenure-track and clinical faculty that advance the Purdue research enterprise. Those who qualify may be eligible for a new concurrent faculty appointment allowing for up to 0.75 FTE to be established at a salary up to 25% higher than their current institutional base salary. Eligible tenured and tenure-track and clinical faculty must submit an application to qualify.

The Application Deadline is May 31, 2024 for year 2 of this pilot program.

Details on pilot program including individual eligibility, specific enhanced research appointment, base salary enhancement criteria, and allowable funding sources can be found in the Program Guidelines and Eligibility document.

Examples of completed application forms provided below:

  • Example 1 – Faculty base appointment in one department and enhanced research appointment in one department (most common)
  • Example 2 – Faculty base (concurrent) appointments in two departments and enhanced research appointment in one department only
  • Example 3 – Faculty base (concurrent) appointments in two departments and enhanced research appointments in two departments
