Yuka Suzuki

Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in the U.S.

Yuka Suzuki took up her post as Science Counselor at the Embassy of Japan in July 2024. She is responsible for supporting and promoting cooperation between the U.S. and Japan in science and technology. Prior to this, she worked as Director of the Office for Space Utilization Promotion at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), where she was involved in international space collaboration, including Japan’s contribution of the Pressurized Rover for the Artemis Mission.

She also worked as Deputy Director of the Ocean and Earth Division and as Director of the Office of Human Resource Development and Innovation in the Atomic Energy Division at MEXT. She has also served as Director-General of the New Industry Promotion Division in the Industry and Economy Bureau of Kitakyushu City, and as Director of Regenerative Medicine Research at the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
