Takao Onoye
Executive Vice President for Research, The University of Osaka
Takao Onoye is Executive Vice President for Research and Information Promotion at The University of Osaka. A distinguished scholar in information science and engineering, he earned his master’s degree in electrical, electronic and information engineering and later his Doctor of Engineering from The University of Osaka. He began his academic career at Osaka University’s School of Engineering, followed by faculty roles at Kyoto University and The University of Osaka, where he became professor in the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology in 2003.
His research has focused on media processing integration systems, low-power architectures, and system-on-chip implementation. In addition to his academic leadership, Dr. Onoye has served as dean of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, director of The University of Osaka Libraries, vice president, and executive advisor to the president. He has also held leadership roles in professional societies including IEICE and IEEE, contributing to international collaboration and advancement in engineering and information systems.
