Norkhiko Ishuguro 

Norihiko Ishiguro serves as the Chairman and CEO of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a position he assumed in April 2023 to drive foreign direct investment, international trade promotion, and global innovation expansion for Japan. Prior to leading JETRO, Ishiguro spent over 35 years in public service at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where he rose to executive leadership as the Vice-Minister for International Affairs. Following his distinguished government career, he transitioned to the private sector as Senior Executive Vice-President and Member of the Board at NEC Corporation, overseeing global business strategies and digital transformation initiatives.

A graduate of the University of Tokyo, Ishiguro bridges extensive public policy expertise with executive private-sector leadership to advance Japan’s economic engagement worldwide.
