Hotseat set to be decommissioned starting spring semester 2025

Purdue’s adoption of iClicker Cloud as its new centrally funded and supported classroom response system for the West Lafayette and Northwest campuses means that Hotseat, a previous option, is set for retirement systemwide.

Hotseat will remain accessible for instructional use throughout the summer and fall of 2024, allowing instructors continue using it in class.

For spring of 2025, Hotseat’s classroom and student use will be discontinued. Instructors still will have limited access for content retrieval purposes.

Instructors are encouraged to get started utilizing iClicker Cloud before the end of fall 2024. Visit the iClicker Cloud webpage for more information, including getting-started guides and videos, or schedule a drop-in session to get answers to questions specific to your course.

The shift to iClicker Cloud represent a significant advancement in Purdue’s classroom response toolkit, offering robust features and capabilities to support interactive teaching methodologies.

Timeline:

  • Summer 2024 and fall 2024: Hotseat available for in-class usage.
  • Spring 2025: Access limited to instructors for content retrieval.
  • Summer 2025: Hotseat decommissioned and no longer available.
