Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on reducing, reusing, recycling

Recycling is known to keep waste out of landfills, prevent greenhouse gas emissions, reduce water pollution and save energy. Megan Shidler, registered dietitian, and Whitney Soto, registered nurse health coach, who are both with the Center for Healthy Living, will present a virtual Healthy Boiler workshop titled “Reduce & Reuse.”

The workshop will take place from noon to 1 p.m. ET on April 28.

“As we continue to see disposable items used at higher rates due to the pandemic (masks, PPE, gloves, paper plates, plastic silverware, etc.), there is no better time to take a step back, analyze our current lifestyle and find ways to reduce and reuse,” Soto says.

Those interested in attending should register by April 27 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s homepage. Hover over the workshop’s square and hit “Submit” to register.

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.
