Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on benefits of good oral health
This workshop supports the physical health pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program.
Oral health is the topic of the Healthy Boiler workshop from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 20 via Zoom. The workshop supports the physical health pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program and will be led by Whitney Soto, registered nurse health coach at the Center for Healthy Living.
“Good oral and dental health are known to help prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease,” Soto says. “It is also very beneficial in reducing your risk of heart attack, stroke, poorly controlled diabetes and more. During the workshop, we will discuss how oral health contributes to several aspects of our lives that we may have overlooked.”
Those interested in attending should register by Oct. 19 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage. Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty, staff and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan.
Information on Purdue’s dental plan can be found on the Faculty and Staff Dental Insurance webpage.
