Open enrollment for 2021 benefits ends at 6 p.m. ET Tuesday

Open enrollment for 2021 benefits ends Tuesday (Nov. 10), and all employees at the West Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses are asked to actively enroll. Human Resources encourages employees to allow enough time for their enrollment to be completed and submitted by 6 p.m. ET.

Employees can enroll for 2021 benefits using Benefitfocus via the OneCampus portal. Select the “Benefits Open Enrollment for Faculty & Staff” icon and then log in with PUID username and BoilerKey. Or they may enroll using the Benefitplace mobile app, for which the Benefitplace App video has more information.

Resources

A dedicated enrollment website, which includes information such as how to enroll instructions, resources, enrollment guides and more, is available to provide detailed information about benefits enrollment for 2021. Additionally, the Newsroom contains links to all past 2021 open enrollment emails for reference.

Not enrolling results in benefit election defaults

Employees who do not enroll will see their benefit elections default as follows:

  • Medical: Defaults to Limited CDHP (employee-only coverage as a tobacco user).
  • Dental: Defaults to preventive dental (employee-only coverage).
  • Vision: Defaults to employee-only coverage.
  • Health savings account (HSA) or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA): No coverage.
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA): Not enrolled (health care, limited purpose or dependent care).
  • Critical illness, supplemental hospital and accident insurance: No coverage.

Download this chart for a comprehensive look at what happens with every benefit when you don’t enroll.

Note: Employees are responsible for the premiums for default coverage. No changes can be made during the plan year, unless employees have a qualifying life event.
