Mindfulness, meditation are focus of upcoming Healthy Boiler workshop

As part of the Healthy Boiler Program, Dr. Jonathan Walker, assistant clinical professor at IU School of Medicine in Fort Wayne, in partnership with Lindsay Bloom, health coach at Purdue Fort Wayne, will present a workshop titled “Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation.”  The workshop will be presented via Zoom from 11 a.m. to noon June 16. The workshop supports the behavioral health pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program.

The workshop is designed for those searching for ways to reduce their stress level while also improving their attention and overall well-being. Attendees will learn the theoretical understanding and practical application of the mindfulness and meditation concepts and benefits. Meditation will be taught not just as a technique, but as a way to be in life, resulting in a positive impact on wellness.

Those interested in attending the virtual workshop should register by June 15 via the Healthy Boiler Portal (registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage).  The Zoom link will be emailed to individuals following their registration.

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to benefits-eligible faculty and staff, as well as dependents covered on a Purdue health plan.
