Many individuals are ready to get outside and add a little more activity into their daily schedules. Thanks to the Healthy Boiler Program, assistance and guidance on how to do so will be shared via an upcoming virtual workshop titled “Being Active Outdoors.” The workshop will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday (May 14).

Led by Lindsay Bloom, health coach at Purdue University Fort Wayne, the workshop will help participants get a walking/running program started. The workshop will provide details on how to set up a plan, select the right shoes and use the right nutrition to fuel their bodies, as well as discuss other outdoor exercise considerations. The workshop supports the physical health and behavioral health pillars of the Healthy Boiler Program.

Those interested in participating should sign up by Wednesday (May 13) via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage. The WebEx link will be emailed before the workshop.

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.
