Working families need access to child care because it is the foundation of a parent’s ability to work outside the home. Finding child care – with the right location, providers and structure – is a key factor in job searches and job retention. With that in mind, Human Resources is offering a Healthy Boiler workshop titled “Child Care in Indiana” from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 18 in Stewart Center, Room 313. The workshop supports the work-life integration pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program.

Led by Melissa Simpson, family engagement specialist at The Child Care Resource Network, the workshop will highlight how to locate and evaluate available child care resources in Indiana. Additionally, the various types of child care options will be discussed.

Those interested in attending should register for the workshop by Feb. 17 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. Registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage. Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.
