Intercampus Mail

Weekly intercampus mail transfer is available between Purdue University's West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations. This process is intended for internal, non-urgent and business communications and materials only. Information about filling out campus mail envelopes and related details are on the Campus Mail webpage.

Indianapolis Deadline and Instructions

All intercampus mail destined for West Lafayette must be placed in designated "West Lafayette" bins no later than Tuesday at 2 p.m. each week in one of the following locations:

  • ET Mail Room, Suite 215
  • LD001 Mail Room (servicing IO, SL, LD and EL buildings)
Mail will be picked up by UPS for transport to West Lafayette on Wednesdays. Mail that is placed in collection bins after 2 p.m. on Tuesday may be delayed until the following week’s delivery cycle.

West Lafayette Deadline and Instructions

All intercampus mail destined for Indianapolis should be placed in your department's or building's outgoing campus mail location prior to Tuesday of each week. It will be collected, sorted and bundled by Materials Management and Distribution staff accordingly.

Mail will be sent from West Lafayette to Indianapolis after 3 p.m. each Tuesday.

Important Reminders

Intercampus mail is not scanned or tracked, and there is no verification of receipt or delivery tracking.

  • Do not use this service for time-sensitive or critical documents. For important communications, use trackable delivery methods (e.g., UPS, FedEx, or certified mail; see the Indianapolis External Mail webpage for more information).
  • Secure contents in envelopes or appropriate packaging before depositing them in the collection bins.
  • Avoid placing personal items, valuables or sensitive documents in campus mail.
