Class of 1939 Water Sculpture

Our Operations and Maintenance department is responsible for maintaining the iconic fountains on the West Lafayette campus.

Grounds

Landscaping

Campus flowers are propagated and grown in the department’s greenhouses. Flowers are then planted and maintained in flower beds, pots and hanging baskets around campus.

Amelia Earhart Terminal

The Amelia Earhart Terminal at Purdue University Airport (LAF) officially opened in 2025. The airport currently offers United Express flights operated by SkyWest to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Nearly 300 Emergency Telephone System (ETS) boxes are located at almost every street intersection and other strategic locations on campus. The ETS boxes are yellow or black, have a blue light on top and are marked “EMERGENCY” or “911.”

🚗 Need a ride after dark? 

Safe Ride with Lyft provides Purdue students with rides to and from select destinations within the program area from 6 p.m.-1 a.m., seven days a week.

Check your Purdue email for information about signing up and receiving ride credits. 🌙

🚶 Need someone to walk with you? 

The Safe Walk program is available 24/7 through the IU Indianapolis Police Department for destinations on campus west of West Street.

🚶 Don’t want to walk across campus alone?

The Purdue University Police Department’s Safe Walk program provides escorts to and from campus buildings for students, faculty and staff.

Nearly 300 Emergency Telephone System boxes are located across campus and connect directly to the Purdue Public Safety Dispatch Center. 

Look for yellow or black boxes with a blue light on top marked “EMERGENCY” or “911.”
🚗 Wood Street Parking Garage is reopening! After 🚗 Wood Street Parking Garage is reopening! 

After being closed for repairs since May, the garage will reopen Aug. 15. Eligible permit holders can begin parking in the garage again that day.
