How to Remove Files or Folders from QA and Production

If you need to remove a file or folder from the qa and production servers, please follow these steps:

1. Remove the file or folder from the development server using your standard tools (unpublish it in Cascade, remove it using Windows file sharing, remove it using SFTP, etc.)
2. Use the Deploy Tool to Deploy the folder that contained the deleted file or folder (or the entire site if the file or folder was at the site root) to qa
3. Confirm that the Deploy Tool report indicates that the file or folder was deleted
4. Use the Deploy Tool to Deploy the folder that contained the deleted file or folder (or the entire site if the file or folder was at the site root) to production
5. Confirm that the Deploy Tool report indicates that the file or folder was deleted

If for some reason you cannot Deploy the containing folder (there may be other changes that are not yet ready to be Deployed), contact Web Services with the name of the file or folder to remove, which tiers to remove it from, and the reason you cannot use the Deploy Tool for this.
