HR Business Partners
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) team aligns HR strategies with business goals by building strong partnerships with employees and leadership. They focus on people relations. They serve as a resource ensuring a balance of interests to offer guidance on engagement, conflict resolution, workforce strategy and performance management, while promoting fairness, collaboration and a thriving workplace culture. The team also serves as a liaison between university units and the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources.

How the HRBPs Help
- Offer guidance on workplace concerns
- Interpret and provide clarity on University policies and procedures
- Give insight into organizational best practices and guidelines
- Strategize initiatives to promote a positive and engaged work culture
- Consult on people strategy to support business objectives
- Provide guidance on improvement plans, coaching, disciplinary actions and performance evaluations/goals
- Conduct workplace investigations when appropriate, considering potential for violation of University policy or labor laws
- Partner with other University offices to address inquiries or workplace matters
For Employees
Employees should reach out to their HRBP for workplace guidance and advice.
- Meetings are confidential (in most circumstances) and will only be shared with others with the employee’s agreement.
- The HRBP will collaborate with the employee, strategizing potential ways to resolve concerns.
