What’s New Overview

What’s New for 2026

Your well-being matters to us, which is why we strive to offer benefits that cater to your diverse needs. Whether it's getting the care you need, protecting your family, or finding that perfect work-life balance, our goal is to support you every step of the way.

That's why, every year, we carefully evaluate and update our benefit options to provide you with the best choices at the most affordable rates. Following are the changes for 2026.

SLIGHT INCREASE TO PREMIUMS AND PLAN UPDATES

There will be a slight medical premium increase (between 12 cents and $8.35 per month, depending on medical salary tier, plan election and coverage level) due to continued rising healthcare costs. Purdue covers 90% of your premium, and this slight increase allows us to maintain the high level of care in our plans.

NEW MEDICAL PLAN ADMINISTRATOR

You’ll have the same medical plan options and Anthem/HealthSync network, but Ameriben will now manage your claims and member support. New ID cards will arrive before Jan. 1.

EXPANDED FERTILITY RESOURCES

Family planning isn’t one-size-fits-all. Through AllOne Health, you now have access to three free fertility coaching sessions and a library of educational resources.

NEW PROVIDER FOR VOLUNTARY BENEFITS

Securian will be the provider for accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity insurance, reducing premiums and continuing to provide the same options for employees and their families.

MORE ALLOWED FOR CHILD OR ELDER CARE EXPENSES

In 2026, you can set aside up to $7,500 in a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA). This means more money in your pocket and less stress managing care costs for your loved ones.

TOBACCO AND WORKING SPOUSE SURCHARGES

In 2026, there are increases to both the tobacco and working spouse surcharges:

  • Tobacco Surcharge: The surcharge for tobacco users enrolled in medical plans will increase to $1,500.
  • Working Spouse Surcharge: To maintain eligibility for working spouses to access the Purdue medical plans, the surcharge for enrolled spouses who do not enroll in their employer’s health plan will increase to $1,500 (lower medical tier) and $2,000 (higher medical tier).

NEW COMMUTER BENEFIT

Travel easier and save money with our new commuter benefit from HSA Bank. Put aside tax-free dollars—up to $325 per month—for travel costs to and from work (mass transit and parking).

LEGAL PLAN ENHANCEMENTS

If you enroll in MetLife’s legal plan, you’ll receive discounted TurboTax access and unlimited expert support during tax season.
