Congratulations to Rachael Herring (LA major/HORT minor) who was selected into the 2023 Young Leaders Scholarship Program from the Mid America CropLife Association. The YLSP is “designed to expose future agriculturalists to the crop protection industry and potential career opportunities.”

The Carmel Chinese Garden Co-envisioning workshop was successfully conducted on the previous Sunday in Carmel, Indiana. The public engagement process, led by Assistant Professor Yiwei Huang, thus far has garnered considerable support from the community. The Purdue Landscape Architecture program career fair was a resounding success. Hosted from the Beck Agricultural Center on February 10, 46 design firms from around the country enrolled to participate and over 200 student interviews were held for traditional summer internships, year-long co-op internships, and post-graduation employment opportunities. Brad Howe, design director of SCAPE, delivered Olinger Lecture on Thursday evening, 02/09. The two projects featured, Living Breakwaters (Staten Islands, NY) and Tom Lee Park (Memphis, TN), are great examples of SCAPE’s cutting-edge landscape architecture projects that enhance ecological resilience and build up social cohesion within the context.


Assistant Professor Yiwei Huang has been nominated as the chair to lead the Student Support and Engagement Committee within the national American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
