Stephen Meyers presented “Off-Target Herbicide Movement and Its Impact on High-Value Specialty Crops” January 26 at the National Railroad Contractor’s Association (NRCA) Weed Control Seminar in Muncie, Indiana. Through the program railroad applicators are trained (pun intended) in vegetation management to meet NRCA and numerous state requirements and certifications.
The 2023 Indiana Horticultural Conference and Expo was held January 23 and 24 at the Beck Agricultural Center in West Lafayette. The Southwest Indiana Melon and Vegetable Growers Annual Meeting was held on Jan 20, 2023, in French Lick. The meeting is in conjunction with Illiana Watermelon Association Convention and attracts melon growers in southern Indiana and industry representatives across the country. Steve Meyers and the team presented Melon Weed Science Research Update at the meeting.
Ashley Adair presented “Organic Gardening and Composting” for the Wabash County Extension Hot Topics Series on January 19, 2023. Extension educators Geoff Schortgen, Courtney Schmidt, and Krista Pullen have done a great job promoting this series. Over 100 participants joined the Zoom call with lots of great discussion.
