Purdue Libraries ready for launch in Indianapolis

Purdue’s Student Center Library in Indianapolis Building

Beginning Jan. 1, Purdue Libraries will serve as the primary library resource for all Purdue students, faculty and staff in Indianapolis, continuing to strengthen academic and research support.

The Student Center Library began initial operations in fall 2025 and has been preparing for a full launch in spring 2026.

“While Purdue Libraries remains committed to maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with our colleagues at IU Indianapolis, we encourage a thoughtful transition away from reliance on IU Indianapolis Libraries,” said Ann O’Donnell, assistant operations manager of the Student Center Library in Indianapolis, Purdue University Libraries.

“We have Purdue students coming in and utilizing our space in the Student Center — which has been really wonderful,” O’Donnell said. “The computers have been getting quite a lot of usage.”

Purdue faculty, staff and students can continue to reserve study rooms in the IUI University Library. Although they will no longer have borrowing privileges from IU Indianapolis Libraries with their Purdue Crimson Card, Purdue faculty, staff and students may contact IU Indianapolis Libraries to inquire about a visitor’s card.
