Two dedicated spaces support Purdue student organizations in Indianapolis
Two spaces in the Engineering Science and Technology Building at 723 W. Michigan St. — SL 113 and SL 116 — have been designated for registered student organizations, addressing the needs of more than 70 RSOs now active in Indianapolis.
SL 113, renamed the RSO Workshop, will be managed by the College of Engineering. Student organizations can use this space to meet, work on and store projects; develop new skills; and build a community with students outside of their organization.
“This space represents our commitment to providing students a hands-on, experiential education that extends beyond the classroom,” said Andrew Tomaschke, director of the Innovation Hall Maker Space. “We are thrilled with how quickly leadership has moved on this project to address the needs of student organizations.”
SL 116, the RSO Office, will serve as an administrative workspace for student organization leaders. Managed by the Office of the Dean of Students, it contains worktables and cubicles that allow multiple leaders to share the space concurrently. The office operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations needed.
“Student organization leaders can use the space to do office work, to hold office hours and to have small and informal meetings,” said Sara Dickey, associate dean of students.
All student organization leaders and advisors in Indianapolis will be notified the week of Nov. 10 with more information about the RSO Workshop and RSO Office.
