Student Trustee Application and Selection

One of the ten members of the Board of Trustees is a full-time student.  The student trustee is the student representative to the Board of Trustees, serves on the Board's Academic and Student Affairs Committee and Physical Facilities Committee, and has an equal vote on all actions taken by the Board.  Any undergraduate or graduate student from the West Lafayette, Purdue Fort Wayne (PFW), or Purdue Northwest (PNW) campuses may apply.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Life oversees the application and interview process.  A search committee interviews the applicants and selects ten finalists to be interviewed by Indiana's govenor, who then appoints the student trustee to serve a two-year term.  This resolution concerning the University process for selecting the student trustee was approved by the Board on October 2, 2020.

Details about selection process are available on this document.

Applications for the 2025-2027 student trustee are now being accepted; download the application form for additional details.
