Resource fair provides employees with information, wellness checks, more
More than 550 Purdue staff and faculty attended the employee resource fair held September 27 in the Purdue Memorial Union. Over 40 organizations were present to provide information and answer questions about available services.
Hosted by the Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee and Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee, the resource fair offered one-on-one interactions between employees and representatives from Purdue departments, programs and vendors.
Organizations provided employees with awareness of resources offered and even gave on-the-spot wellness services and screenings. The Center for Healthy Living provided flu shots, the Ismail Center provided blood pressure and grip strength checks, and the American Pharmacists Association Purdue Student Chapter provided cholesterol and blood glucose tests.
The Purdue Police Department and Purdue University Pharmacy provided a drug take-back booth for unwanted or expired medication. The proper disposal of pharmaceuticals is important for environmental and human health. If you did not get a chance to drop off unwanted medication at the resource fair, you may drop it off at the Purdue Police Department at any time.
Many vendors donated prizes such as sweatshirts, water bottles and more, which will be awarded as prizes to randomly selected attendees who completed the resource fair experience survey.
