Optimization with Teams

Optimization with Teams

In this paper, we present a case study on the implementation of Microsoft Teams within the Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center (AAARCC) at Purdue University, focusing on both the practical applications and best practices associated with this technology adoption. Initially confronted with inefficiencies in communication, fragmented task management, and redundant software usage, AAARCC integrated Microsoft Teams and its suite of collaborative tools—such as Planner and OneDrive/Box—as a strategic solution to streamline workflows and enhance organizational cohesion.

The analysis begins with a detailed examination of the specific operational challenges faced by AAARCC, outlining the structural and technological gaps that impeded effective collaboration. Following this, we explore the approaches and strategies employed to facilitate the transition to Microsoft Teams, emphasizing methods that enabled staff to overcome initial obstacles. Through this integration, AAARCC achieved significant advancements in communication management and task distribution, leading to a more cohesive and efficient team environment.

By documenting AAARCC’s experience, this study contributes a model for other cultural organizations seeking to optimize their workflows through technology adoption. The findings highlight the importance of continuous adaptation and evaluation of digital tools, demonstrating how cultural organizations can leverage strategic technology use to meet evolving operational needs. This paper aims to provide actionable insights for institutions navigating similar challenges in pursuit of operational efficacy and collaborative enhancement.
