Impact Awards Scoring Rubric

See below for examples of the scoring rubric utilized for each different Impact Award. All awards are measured on a nine-point grading scale.

Student Life Service Award

The Student Life Service Award is for Purdue alumni who have demonstrated a commitment to their community through the development of/or significant contributions to private or public programs that improve or enhance the quality of life for individuals, families and communities.

Professional Achievement (3.0)

Limited commitments to a variety of service organizations pertaining to job; no volunteer award(s) received related to service

Multiple commitments to a variety of service organizations pertaining to job; volunteer award(s) received related to service

Multiple long-term commitments to a variety of service organizations pertaining to job; volunteer award(s) received related to service, leadership role in service organizations or on boards

Contributions to Purdue and/or Purdue Community (1.5)

Participated in few campus activities and organizations while attending Purdue; little to no community involvement and/or university contributions involvement since graduation

Participated in many campus activities and organizations while attending Purdue; some community involvement and/or university contributions involvement since graduation

Participated in vast amount of campus activities and organizations while attending Purdue; large community involvement and/or university contributions involvement since graduation

Student Life Award for Outstanding Leadership

The Student Life Award for Outstanding Leadership is for Purdue alumni who have exceptional careers and shown long-term leadership within his/her chosen profession, or have shown noteworthy professional accomplishments that reflect favorably on his/her profession, Purdue University and society.

Bob L. and Joyce Beery Miles Student Life Mentor Award

Bob L. and Joyce Beery Miles Student Life Mentor Award winners can include non-alumni. The Bob L. and Joyce Beery Miles Student Life Mentor Award.” honors and promotes the considerable efforts and accomplishments of individuals who consistently serve as effective mentors for students in areas within the Division of Student Life at Purdue.

Student Life Young Alumni Award

The Student Life Young Alumni Award is for Purdue alumni 35 or younger who have shown outstanding career development either through traditional channels or innovative approaches.
