Thumbs Up

Billie Hicks

Billie Hicks (Building Services): Billie is one of the most dedicated and hardworking people I know. She has been working at Purdue for 16 years and has worked her way up to a third shift crew leader position. We have been short-staffed, especially on third shift, for three years. Billie has had to help out in multiple areas due to either someone calling in or the area being vacant. Billie is a crew leader that cares for and about her crew. She is always lending out a helping hand even when hers are full. Thank you, Billie, for being the amazing and caring crew leader and person you are! – Christina Corbin (Building Services)

Jane Wiercioch

Jane Wiercioch (Agronomy): A big thank-you to Jane Wiercioch, lead academic advisor in the agronomy department. Jane has been a big help during a period of time while we are conducting a search for our new academic advisor. Thank you, Jane, for always being available to help answer questions and navigate the beginning-of-semester questions. Thank you, Jane! – Amy Deitrich (Botany and Plant Pathology)

Matt Henson

Matt Henson (Materials Management Distribution): Thank you to Matt Henson, Materials Management Distribution Center skid truck driver, for being patient and waiting until a crate that I needed to ship out finally made its way to the ARMS dock area. The moving process took much longer than expected, but Matt stayed, loaded the crate and brought it back that same afternoon. – Patty Turner (Materials Management Distribution)

Chris Eichrodt

Chris Eichrodt (Engineering IT): Chris is always a delight to chat with and has been so incredibly helpful with helping all of us set up our new offices in the ME Building. He really helped make this transition easier and as seamless as possible. He is also so incredibly approachable and is always ready to help find answers to my questions. – Amanda Barnett (Mechanical Engineering)

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done; we truly appreciate you all and your time and efforts to take care of the buildings. Keep up the great teamwork. Without you guys, we couldn’t get it done on time. – Shiela Hunt (Building Services – Residence Halls)

Shawn Salazar, Sam Leclere and Hector Salazar

Shawn Salazar, Sam Leclere and Hector Salazar (all Building Services): I’d like to thank Shawn Salazar, Sam Leclere and Hector Salazar for their help with deep cleaning a classroom after a fire extinguisher was discharged in the room. Their cleaning efforts removed a lingering smell in the room, and we were able to get it back open for use quickly. They went above and beyond to help with this and still completed the rest of their daily work in the building. I greatly appreciate their hard work! – Kurtis Barnett (Building Services)

Teresa Rohler

Teresa Rohler (Procurement Services): Thanks to Teresa Rohler in Travel for simply saying, “Can you give me a call?” when email explanations just aren’t enough. Thank you! – Sarah Goysich (Meredith South Operations)

Jefferson Howells

Jefferson Howells (Environmental Health and Public Safety): A huge thank-you to Jefferson Howells for dropping everything – during BGR, nonetheless – and taking the lead when we unexpectedly needed him to step in as a speaker with less than 24 hours’ notice. Jeff Daugherty

Jeff Daugherty (Building Services – Residence Halls): I wanted Jeff to be recognized for his willingness to always lend a hand at Meredith Hall. The maintenance team has gone to him with questions on several occasions, and he offers not only answers, but assistance as well. His wealth of knowledge about the building and willingness to be a team player are greatly appreciated. – Suzzanne Hauntz (Operations and Maintenance)

Allec Thomason and Josh Shepler

Allec Thomason and Josh Shepler (both Operations and Maintenance): Thank you to Allec and Josh from zone 4 for all they do for the School of Business. This email is long overdue, but I wanted to thank them for spending hours and days over the summer weeks changing out ballasts and relamping so many of our classrooms and public spaces. Also, a very special thanks to Dale Harrison for helping us so often with these same types of repairs; wishing him well. We very much appreciate your quick response time and can-do approach to each of our requests for assistance. – Michael Humphrey (Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business)
