Thumbs Up

Desiree Clark

Desiree Clark (College of Engineering): Desiree helped me figure out a problem I was having with updating our webpage for several weeks. She was so kind and helpful, and we finally figured out the solution to the problem! Thank you, Desiree! – Zoe Crum (Engineering Honors)

Alisa Montgomery

Alisa Montgomery (Student Success): Alisa is an advocate for equal access for students. She goes above and beyond to make sure students are having an equitable and accessible experience at Purdue. She is also a safe place for students who are struggling. She is great with getting them connected with the right support. Alisa is a champion of students! – Sandra Cash (Student Success)

Melody Carducci, Lisa Klein, Lauren Lucas and Zach Oborne

Melody Carducci, Lisa Klein, Lauren Lucas and Zach Oborne (all Purdue Polytechnic Institute Administration): This is a huge “Thumbs Up” to Computer and Information Technology advisors for outstanding efforts and teamwork during the end of the spring semester processing while planning for summer and fall! The growth in the department requires advisors to quickly pivot efforts each day by celebrating graduates, meeting with Change of Degree Objective students and processing applications, while continuing to meet the needs and celebrate the accomplishments of current students. Along with all of this, huge kudos for working so well as a team to create excellent materials for the incoming summer and fall 2023 students! Boiler Up! – Angie Murphy (Purdue Polytechnic Institute Administration)

Patty Turner

Patty Turner (Materials Management Distribution): Patty has saved me twice now. In both instances, she offered what options she had available and was patient. Thank you so much, Patty! – Aimee Mansfield (Office of the Vice President for Ethics and Compliance)

Benjamin Floyd Vaughn

Benjamin Floyd Vaughn (Grounds): I write to acknowledge Ben Vaughn for his excellent and expedient assistance, information and service! The Office of Teacher Education and Licensure recently completed a 10-year project to transfer student and historical documents to online access. What was coordinated the week of June 5, with the assistance of Ben, was what remained of that project. Ben responded quickly by delivering 10 bins, unlocking the bins for easy access, offering excellent recommendations on how best to sort our documents, and anticipating pickup and removal – all of this with our added confidence that the fruits of our labor would be managed securely. The entire experience from start to finish was a pleasure. On behalf of our team, we are grateful. Congratulations, Ben! You are most deserving of this recognition. – V. Joy Garton Krueger (College of Education Administration)

Paige Ellwanger and Wendi Boomsma

Paige Ellwanger and Wendi Boomsma (both Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital): A big thanks to Paige and Wendi, veterinary pharmacy technicians, for being extraordinary during a staffing shortage. They never complain, even when the workload seems overwhelming. They work with focus, efficiency, compassion and a cheerful attitude. They keep the pharmacy running, and we are lucky to have them! – Jason Moore and Trinna Pierce (both Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital)
