Gracie Heeb

Gracie Heeb (Office of International Students and Scholars): Gracie went above and beyond to help my student find a way to make his visa work with his required military service. She is a rock star! – Melody Carducci (Purdue Polytechnic Institute Administration)

Julia Bello-Bravo

Julia Bello-Bravo (Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication): Thank you for sending us photos of Victoria Falls, Zambia, where you are attending a conference. These enriched our class in understanding international ecosystems. The photo of the falls and the rainbow brought smiles to many faces. – Anne N. Lutomia (Entomology)

Bob Shirley

Bob Shirley (Operations and Maintenance) and the Bull Gang: Bob Shirley and the Bull Gang crew were scheduled a full day to move our old junk furniture to salvage to prepare for the upcoming ME renovation. Other emergencies arose during the Bull Gang’s scheduled time with us, not allowing the job to be completed in one day. Bob and his crew worked with us to come back the next morning to finish the job. Bob and the Bull Gang crew always go above and beyond for us, which isn't easy with all the types of stuff that needs to be moved. They are very professional and friendly, and we appreciate everything they do. – Pam Graf and Jacob Bailey (Mechanical Engineering)

Janice Thomaz

Janice Thomaz (Physics and Astronomy): Once again, our hundred-plus population of undergraduate physics and astronomy majors settled into a new semester with ease, thanks to our incredible academic advisor Janice Thomaz. I hope every student you help realizes how much you truly care and how far you are willing to go for your students. Thank you for your meticulous care for our students’ education and path to graduation! – Gábor Csáthy (Physics and Astronomy)

Water Works and Street Crews

Water Works and Street Crews: I would like to thank the water works and street crews that responded to the water leak at Hilltop Apartments last week. Their quick response and professionalism resulted in the issue being resolved within a couple of hours of being reported and without disruption to the tenants. They are truly team players. – David G. Burford (Operations and Maintenance)

Kelsey Gregory

Kelsey Gregory (Human Resources): During the past few months, Kelsey has assisted my directors with numerous time-sensitive job postings and compensation reviews. She has always been timely, friendly and efficient. We are very grateful for her help. – Mike Brzezinski (Office of Global Partnerships)

Natalie Zimmermann

Natalie Zimmermann (School of Aviation and Transportation Technology): During our recent rainstorms, Natalie was one of the last people still in the NISW building at around 8 p.m. She discovered a roof leak in one of the NISW computer labs, and the water leak was at risk of damaging the computers. Natalie could not locate help, so she took matters into her own hands and found buckets and rags to contain the water leak. She successfully prevented multiple computers from water damage. Thank you, Natalie! – Peng Hao Wang (School of Aviation and Transportation Technology)

Graduate School Staff: A day does not go by that I am not amazed by the customer service the grad school staff give to all the grad admins. They are superb in customer service. – Loretta McKinniss (Engineering Education)

Natalie Devine

Natalie Devine (Building Services): Thank you, Natalie and day shift custodians, for checking on an area in the basement of LSA where there was a recent water leak. I asked Natalie and her day shift custodians if they could check on this area a few times during the day, and they assured me that it would get done. The day shift custodians checked on this area for water a few times during day and found nothing. Natalie went out of her way and found out the root cause of the water and where the water was coming from inside of the space. Natalie then emailed me with several details that helped me and my crew understand what was going on in these spaces. Natalie, I appreciate the information that I was given from you; thank you and your crew for going above and beyond what was expected. – Mike Royer (Building Services)
