Faculty invited to take survey on scholarship of engagement

Faculty are being invited to take a survey on the scholarship of engagement and its assessment at Purdue.

The survey, which is being conducted by the Office of Engagement with the support of Provost Jay Akridge, is available online and takes about five minutes to complete. The survey is open through Nov. 23.

Purdue recognizes the scholarship of engagement along with the scholarship of learning and discovery as a means for faculty advancement, including promotion and/or tenure, says Steve Abel, associate provost for engagement.

"Our goal is to better understand the opportunities and challenges associated with documenting and assessing the scholarship of engagement at Purdue," Abel says. "Input from faculty members is critical not only to the success of this survey but also to helping Purdue to develop programs that will advance and support the scholarship of engagement."
