Orientation scheduled for newly tenured faculty

An orientation program directed at newly tenured faculty will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 in Stewart Center, Rooms 302-306.

The program was created based on feedback from the 2015 Collaborative in Academic Careers on Higher Education (COACHE) survey. Jessica Huber, professor of speech, language, and hearing sciences, and interim associate vice provost for faculty affairs working on the COACHE program, said that associate professors indicated the need for additional information about new responsibilities associated with tenure and plotting their course to full professor rank.

Faculty tenured in 2016 and 2017 will automatically receive an invitation to the event. If you do not receive an invitation, or were tenured before 2016 and would like to attend, please contact Huber.

Registration is required. To register or get more information, email Huber at jhuber@purdue.edu or Anne Jarrard at ajarrard@purdue.edu.

COACHE is a comprehensive online survey addressing workplace experiences, job satisfaction and career development.
