Week of activities aiming to enhance culture of respect, inclusion

A consortium of Purdue units, student organizations and student government led by the Boilers Supporting Boilers student group this week are holding the first BSB Week to increase awareness for campus resources supporting students in mental health, wellness, sexual well-being, racial/cultural awareness, and respect.

Events, which are open to students, faculty and staff, will take place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. each day based on a specific support area. Events on Tuesday will be at Founders Park, and events on Wednesday through Friday will take place on Memorial Mall.

Below is a breakdown by day with participating organizations:

* Tuesday - Wellness Day: Purdue Student Health Advocates, Purdue Student Government.

* Wednesday - Sexual Well-being Day: Center for Advocacy, Response and Education; Fraternity, Sorority, Co-op Life; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Center.

* Thursday - Racial/Cultural Awareness Day: Students of Purdue Against Racism Coalition; Purdue Graduate Student Government; and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Center.

* Friday - Respect Day: Boilers Supporting Boilers.

Representatives from each group will be available to talk about their organization and will hold different activities focused on the topic of the day. Events on Monday focused on Mental Health Day with representatives from Counseling and Psychological Services, National Alliance on Mental Illness campus unit, Purdue Student Union Board.
