Market on Campus

There are multiple ways for the Purdue community to market and connect with current students. Keep your goals and audience in mind as you consider the most effective channels for your communication/promotion.

Please note that various channels may require scheduling, reservations, Purdue University branding or additional requirements. Click here to view the full University Posting Policy.

BoilerLink

BoilerLink is a student organization management system that allows registered student organizations and Purdue departments/areas to create events and promote to Purdue students. If you are interested in having your event on BoilerLink and are not a registered group, please contact the Student Activities and Organization Office at sao@purdue.edu or call at 765-494-1231.

Boiler Television Advertisement

Residence halls broadcast BoilerTV (BTV) as part of their TV offerings. The Student Life Channel is channel 2.1 on cable and is also available on the BoilerTV streaming service. Purdue organizations can submit 900px-by-600px images/slides or videos linked from a YouTube channel.

Chalking

Chalking is a great way to advertise in a variety of locations on campus. Only use chalk that can be removed with water. Do not use paint chalk or aerosol (spray) chalk. Chalking is limited to sidewalk areas and prohibited from all vertical surfaces.

Click here for more information about chalking in the University Posting Policy.

Posters/Flyers
Posters and flyers should only be placed in approved areas. Telephone poles, garbage cans, bike racks and structural elements of buildings are not legitimate signage places unless they are designated for signage. Make sure to check in with the department or unit for any bulletin boards before you place posters and follow any additional instructions. It is recommended that posters and flyers should include the name of the campus sponsor.

Click here to read Purdue University Residences' guidelines for postering in residence halls.

Social Media
Social media is a great way to connect with target audiences, connect with campus partners and amplify other communications. The Division of Student Life has many different social media accounts that are managed across the division. If you are interested in partnering with a department's social media account, connect with them via direct message on the appropriate social platform.
