    Ambassador Distinguished Lecture Series

Cutting edge technology has been redefining diplomatic affairs and international relations between countries. In this context, the Center for Tech Diplomacy aims to understand the role of the digital age in transforming the world order and building capacity within the US, and like-minded partners, to advance freedom, promote democracy, and human rights. One finds that in different ways, tech diplomacy is increasingly posing grave concerns to diplomatic practice, national security, digital sovereignty and personal freedoms. The tremendous power of major tech companies has made them significant players in diplomacy, enabling them to suborning social media like Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. In this situation it is crucial that the US and other democracies stay wedded to democratic norms and promoting society-based technology.
