Description

Social, Cultural and Policy Considerations for Feeding Humanity Sustainably

Dr. Otto Doering

Thursday, October 13, 2016

12:00 – 1:15 PM, Deans Auditorium (PFEN 241)

This challenge represents a compound wicked problem – one that we cannot solve but with luck can make things better. What we must recognize is the compounded nature of the problem where any attempts at improvements require not only technical and biophysical improvements but also understanding and adaption to social, cultural and policy regimes.

The seminar is open to the public. This is part of a weekly seminar on Food Security, where invited speakers from Purdue and outside the university help elevate the dialogue on the availability, access, and use of food in our world. Please do come and engage in dialogue with students and our expert speakers.
