Description

Join RCHE for lunch, networking, and a brief presentation from Dr. Brandon Pope, associate research scientist with RCHE and the School of Industrial Engineering.

Title: Challenges in Designing Information Incentives for Coronary Heart Disease

Abstract: Designing incentive mechanisms to reduce the prevalence and burden of chronic disease through behavior modification is of national and global importance. In this presentation, we model healthcare consumer preference and health states to develop a Markov decision process to solve a decision maker's information incentive problem. Special focus is given in this presentation to problems of modelling dependence between joint health behaviors and robustly estimating health transition probabilities.

Lunch will be provided. Presentation begins at noon.
