Seminars: High content screening/high content analysis instrumentation
Description
The Chemical Genomics Facility in Purdue Center for Drug Discovery is currently evaluating high content screening or high content analysis (HCS or HCA) instrumentation for image based cellular assays/screens. High content screening or high content analysis is an image-based assay and screening methodology applying automated microscopes and automated image analysis. Analysis of digital fluorescence images quantifies intensity, shape and spatial relationships of cellular and sub-cellular objects. In the past 10-15 years, the technology has proven its value in biomedical research and the drug discovery process and is continuously increasing its impact.
We are inviting two top manufacturers (PerkinElmer and Thermo Scientific) of high content screening equipment to give general information seminars
and demos of their products on campus. One will be on April 28th and the other will be on May 2nd, followed by instrument demo through May 3-6. If you are interested in image based cellular assays/screens, please see the attached flyer for more information. You are welcome to meet with the application scientists if you have any specific questions etc. To make the demos most efficient and relevant, you’re encouraged to bring your own samples to test during the demos. Please contact Dr. Lan Chen (lanchen@purdue.edu. 6-6668) to make arrangements.
