Registration is now open.

We will feature U.S. and Brazilian leaders from academia, industry and government agencies to discuss the path forward to sustainable bioenergy production. In particular, we will engage with our Brazilian colleagues to forge strong collaborations around our common goal of making bioenergy a key component of our national energy security. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons will be devoted to short lectures selected from submitted abstracts, workshops, and poster sessions.

Plenary Sessions include: Feedstock Genetics and Genomics; Biology and Genetics of Sustainability; Landscape Sustainability Assessment of Bioenergy Cropping Systems; Feedstock Logistics and Densification; Biochemical and Thermochemical Conversion Pathways; Human Dimensions and the Economic and Policy Issues for Advanced Biofuels

Thanks to support from the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, and the National Science Foundation, Plant Genome Research Program, undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctorals, and pre-tenured faculty are eligible to apply for freeregistration awards. Women and underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside at U.S. institutions. The symposium will begin Sunday evening with a reception and welcome from US and Brazilian dignitaries and a keynote lecture. Monday will be a full day of featured lectures that cover the full range of topics. The plenary lectures will continue Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We will have a second reception Monday evening and a banquet with keynote lecture on Tuesday. The Symposium will conclude Wednesday at 5pm.
